All set to Contribute and Celebrate Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar 128th Birth Anniversary

We the team of OWN MEDIA decided to celebrate Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti in a different way and soon came up with the cool idea to visit an orphanage school and a 2nd innings home (Samarth Ashram) and spend our day with them and contribute to some useful stuff in whatever way we can. So we started crowdfunding from our friends and family, and soon we gathered a good amount of 72,000 rupees which we decided to distribute equally to both the locations. All of our volunteers rose early in the morning with excitement and enthusiasm to do this noble service of DANA (contribution), and we headed towards our journey.

The school was located in a remote area, which has very little access to communication and connectivity. When we reached the School we were astounded by the beauty it was surrounded by, with lush green trees, and golden farms on all the sides, it also had its own well, it had enough free space for the kids to play.

We started our preparations for the kids, we had carried plenty of writing materials, crayons and a big box of chocolates for the kids.

Around 500 students listening intently

We started our program somewhere at 11 am, there were approximately 500 students who were listening to us in a well-behaved and disciplined manner. We interacted with the students and told them about the great works of our leaders and emancipators. They were shy at first but after some time, they got comfortable with us and started responding to our interactive session.

We handed some useful books to the Ashram, including the Great Indian Constitution

After spending some good quality time with all the students and staff, we bid adieu to them and headed to our next destination that was located in Virar. Its name was Samarth Ashram, they were devoted to providing service to those who lived on streets.

We reached Samarth Ashram at 4.30 pm and what we saw after reaching there was soul-tearing.

We saw old people with multiple health issues, some were dealing with mental illness, some with physical disorders, but the way they welcomed us was heartwarming. It felt like they are welcoming us like we are their children and we have come to take them with us. All of our volunteers were shocked by hearing their stories.

As human beings, the life which we live is completely different than the way these people lived. We have attitudes, desires, pleasure, greed, arrogance, ignorance, conflicts, ego and many more tantrums.

But everything vanished when we got to know how they lived their life. Their life is filled with love, kindness, compassion, joy and affection. They are just children with old age.

You show them some love and affection, then you are not a stranger, you are family to them.

These beautiful souls taught us a valuable lesson for life, no matter how life is, it is beautiful and we should live fully. As Sir Winston Churchill rightly said: “We make a living by what we take, but we make a life by what we give.”

pbs 21

Giving our best wishes and some financial help to the noble man Sandipparab for doing extraordinary work for providing helping those who are helpless

We donated an amount of 36000 rupees from our Own Media crowdfunding for the welfare of the Ashram and left the ashram with lot of wisdom to kickstart our life in a broad sense.

A special thanks to Balasaheb Bhalerao Sir for making our dream come true.

This way we celebrated 128th Bhim Jayanti in a Cool Style. And you know what we got?

Peace of Mind…!!!

Avoid all evil,
Cultivate the Good and the True,
Purify your Heart,
This is the Teaching of Buddha.

If you liked this article do share it with your friends and family and let them come up with some great initiatives to celebrate Bhim Jayanti in a Smart Way..

A Powerpacked Jay Bhim..!!
